Charley Boorman reunited with his stolen bike

Charley Boorman is thrilled to have been reunited with his BMW R1200GS Adventure after it was stolen by thieves this weekend.

Known for his friendship with Ewan McGregor and his love of long-distance motorbike adventures, his iron stallion is incredibly important to him.

Luckily, Bike Trac ensured that when it was stolen in the early hours of Saturday morning, it was traced and returned just hours later.

"Naturally I was pretty shocked to learn that my bike had been stolen. In normal circumstances the chance of ever seeing a bike again after it's been stolen is very slim," he said.

"To get the bike recovered so soon really is a testament to the system indeed."

Bike Trac located the motorcycle to a specific garage and police were able to obtain a warrant, where they found the bike partially dismantled.

Hundreds of motorbikes are stolen each year and the majority are never recovered, making tracking technology a fantastic option for keen bikers.
