Mini-biker BMW driver banned from the roads
An 11-year old boy who swapped his mini-bike for a BMW has been given a one year driving ban after police found him driving it, even though he could barely see over the steering wheel.
The boy, who has an attention deficit disorder, will now not be permitted to drive until a year after he is old enough to hold a license.
He told magistrates at Basingstoke youth court that he had acquired the old BMW 528 in a swap deal for his £100 bike, after being approached in the street by a man in his twenties.

Chair of the bench, Esther MacDonald, warned him: "If you break any of the terms of the order we will bring you back to court and we can punish you in a different way."
That the man was willing to swap his car for a mini-bike shows the desirability that such vehicles have nowadays, partially due to the excellent bike insurance policies available.
The boy also received a four-month supervision order, as well as three penalty points for driving without a license and six penalty points for driving without insurance.
