Vibrating seats offer crash protection
Unconventional vehicle parts are being introduced that could help to cut the number of accidents that take place on the UK's roads.
Psychologists at Oxford University have studied how crashes can be avoided by introducing devices that can alert motorists to any impending danger.
Such devices include vibrating seats, belts or foot pedals, as well as auditory signals that could also warn motorists of any imminent hazards.

Dr Charles Spence, who is leading the research, explained: "Touch is completely unused at the moment."
"We think the best thing in the future will be to combine vibration plus auditory warning signals."
Motorists who own vehicles with vibrating parts and auditory warning systems will find that they are far safer, and that the costs of their car and bike insurance policies are significantly reduced.
Car parts manufacturer Denso has predicted vibrating parts will be standard in vehicles by 2020.
