Schumacher in Ducati MotoGP test

In a move that has started some spectacular rumours, Michael Schumacher spent the morning of October 24th test riding a Ducati MotoGP bike.

According to Motocycle News (MCN), F1 ace Schumacher took to the Italian Mugello track at 11am, riding solo on Loris Capirossi's Ducati Demosedici MotoGP bike.

The seven time F1 world champion even had a set of Alpinestars leathers custom made for the event.

Originally booked at Schumacher's request as a secret test session, the circuit was crawling with media by the time he took to the track after Italian Sports Paper Gazetta Della Sport led with the story.

Schumacher has two seasons left on his current Ferrari contract and were he to make the switch to two wheels it would be one of the biggest motorsport stories of the last decade.

The 36-year-old has been widely tipped to become an ambassador for the team once his driving days are over.

One man who looks increasingly likely to switch disciplines is Yamaha rider and reigning MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi.

The little Italian's "secret" tests for Ferrari are one of the worst kept secrets in motorsport and rumours are that the man they call The Doctor could find himself partnering Schumacher on four wheels as early as next season.
