Pastrana flips for Suzuki

Twenty-one year-old motorcross loony Travis Pastrana has performed the first ever complete double back flip while riding his Suzuki for a new video.

Pastrana whetted the appetites of adrenaline-fuelled fans last year by performing the trick on film into a foam practice pit.

However his latest video features him completing the stunt on a dirt jump. Pastrana's feat comes just five years after Carey Hart raised the bar by landing the first ever single back flip while riding for Honda.

As well as performing at exhibitions and for highlight videos Pastrana currently rides for Suzuki Motorcycles in the Supercross series, but sees his long-term future more firmly on the ground.

The two-wheel ace has announced that he will be competing in a Subaru WRX STi across seven events in the 2005 Rally America National Championship and went on to describe rallying as his future.

"This will be a serious effort for Travis and our team, and we will be looking forward to developing his driving talent gradually, with the aim of setting up his future in the sport," explained Lance Smith, team manager of the Vermont SportsCar squad.

Pastrana was also welcomed by Subaru representative James Han who described him as having strong potential on four wheels.
