It is built with innovative technology such as Brakesnakes, which prevent foreign objects from getting between the engine and the footbrake. It is fully ready for off-road use, with removable registration holders and indicators.

The machine also features a reinforced gearbox, especially designed ergonomics for off-road riding and a see-through fuel tank to allow riders to monitor their petrol usage accurately.

The bike has already featured on the competition circuit, making an appearance at Dakar in 2004. BMW teams have also taken part in the German, Austrian and Italian Cross Country contests.

The bike is available in limited numbers now from BMW dealers, and is on display at the International Motorcycle Show, taking place at the Birmingham NEC until November 6th.
