Bill is biking "catastrophe"
The Motor Cycle Industry association (MCI) has written to every member of the House of Lords in an attempt to secure the future of off-road motorbiking.
The MCI claims that the proposed Natural Environment and Rural Communities Bill poses a severe threat to the future of off-road biking.
If passed, the Bill will remove all vehicular access from existing rights of way, unless they are already marked as a byway open to all traffic.

The implication, the MIC claims, is that motorbikes will be banned from most green lanes around England and Wales. Under current legislation motorbikes are only allowed to access five per cent of England and Wales' rights of way under current legislation.
In protest the MIC has written to every member of the House of Lords ahead of the Bill's second reading, hoping to "try and prevent a catastrophe to off-road motorcycle activity".
MCI's Craig Carey-Clinch warns that the legislation will do little to prevent illegal, anti-social biking, but will instead see the few open paths saturated with motor bikers.
"This is another example of intolerance towards minority interests," he concluded.
The MCI sees the proposed legislation as a further victory to the nation's lobby of "extremist ramblers," who previously benefited from the Right to Roam legislation.
