Suzuki launching new GSR600

Suzuki has confirmed that it will mark the new year with the launch of the brand new GSR600.

Set to arrive in UK showrooms in January the new Suzuki GSR600 has been creatively described by the manufacturer as a "naked middleweight sports bike in which modern art meets race technology".

On paper the new bike does sound promising and is basically the GSX-R600 engine packed up in a lighter-weight frame, complete with B-King concept styling.

According to Suzuki the combination of an alloy frame and new swing arm suspension offers class-leading rigidity to go with that promising power plant.

Other features include a revamped seating and riding position and shorter wheel-base. The new tech spec includes KYB front suspension and four-piston Tokico brakes, while the four-stroke engine uses a three-piece crankcase and staggered transmission shafts.

While the bike does not boast the 250bhp output of the B-King concept the Suzuki design team, headed up by Nishino Toshiyuki, have managed to carry through many of the styling points. Meanwhile the swing arm/alloy frame combination make for an almost seamless look.
