Top offers for bikers who 'brave the elements'

Honda is helping motorbike insurance holders to fight off the winter weather by offering complimentary accessories with selected models.

Four of its machines now come with 360-degree heated grips that offer the perfect solution to the current cold temperatures.

The offer applies to its VFR800 VTEC sports-tourer, which has become a firm favourite with bike enthusiasts since its introduction to the range in 1986.

Honda cites its "unsurpassed reputation" for reliability and top-class performance as the main reason behind its success.

And the manufacturer believes that the new-for-2009 Pearl Sunbeam White will continue the model's popularity, with prices starting from £7,755.

Also included in Honda's Brave the Elements offer are the NT700V Deauville tourer, the XL1000V Varadero adventure machine and the XL700VA Transalp.

The deal has been extended until the end of March this year, meaning now could be a good time to buy for those in the market for a new machine.

Honda has started the New Year in particularly generous mood, it would seem, having also announced its Test Ride and Win promotion to run this February.

Under the offer, riders who sign up online to test ride any new motorbike at the firm's dealerships will be entered into a free prize draw to win a brand-new machine.
