Yamaha launches new XJ6
Motorbike enthusiasts could be in a rush to renew their bike insurance policies after Yamaha announced its latest offering.
The XJ6 is being tipped to offer riders top performance specifications and is expected to appeal to fans of the brand.
Yamaha also hopes the bike will entice a number of new customers with its modern appearance and 600cc liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine.
As the credit crunch continues to bite, motorbikes are increasingly being seen as a cheaper and more convenient form of transport for those looking to cut back on the cost of commuting.
And the manufacturer seems certain that the XJ6's smooth ride and stylish looks will make it a hit with those looking to switch to two wheels.
"This naked all rounder delivers a really easy riding experience together with strong all-round performance," it claims.
As part of its attempts to improve rider comfort, the bike offers a new rear suspension system that allows for top handling performance.
In addition, its low seat position gives bikers improved control over the vehicle when moving at low speeds, making it ideal for those travelling through busy cities.
The XJ6 is currently available at £4,849 and comes after rival manufacturer Honda revealed plans to extend its Brave The Elements promotion to customers.
This offers buyers who test ride any bike at Honda dealerships the chance to win a brand-new machine.
