Students develop fuel cell motorbike
An innovative type of green motorbike has been designed and developed by students at a college in Leeds.
Engineering students Andreas Pacheco and Alex Bell, of Swarthmore College, have produced a bike powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology in a bid to measure how efficiently the machine runs.
"Our goal is to design and build a hydrogen fuel cell-powered motorcycle to test the efficiencies of hydrogen fuel cell, internal combustion and battery propulsion," the scholars commented.

So far, the machine has been two years in the making, with the students currently addressing some software problems. However, they have said that they are satisfied to see their hard work come to life in ride-able form.
Last year, website edie.net reported that bike brand Suzuki has developed a fuel cell motorbike with firm Intelligent Energy, which is based in Loughborough.
The two companies were in the process of agreeing to produce such machines for the commercial market.
Dr John Moore, one of Intelligent Energy's co-founders, told the website: "The technology - that works today. The main thing we are working on today is roadworthiness issues."
