Suzuki 'led market in 2008
Motorbike brand Suzuki has announced that for the fifth consecutive year, it has achieved the best performance of all bike manufacturers within the largest UK market segment.
Last year saw the company tot up 14,250 new registrations, topping the sales charts several times with its DR-Z400SM and GSX-R1000 models, motorbike insurance customers may be interested to read.
The brand is now looking to continue through 2009 in a similar manner with the launch of an additional two models - the Gladius 650 and the new GSX-R1000 superbike.
Gladius models will be available to buy from showrooms later this month, while the GSX offering should be launched in March.
Commenting on the positive results, Suzuki GB general manager Paul de Lusignan, said: "Despite a tough market, we still managed to finish the year as leaders in the largest segment of the market yet again."
Mr de Lusignan attributed the success to a combination of providing impressive models with good value deals alongside a "proactive dealer network".
He continued to thank the dealers for their strong customer service and also consumers for their support.
Earlier this year, the brand launched its new XC range for hare and hounds or cross-country riders, offering models in 125cc and 250cc versions.
