Bikers beware: Heavy rain forecast
Bikers looking to avoid a bike insurance claim over the coming days may want to be wary of the heavy rain being forecasted.
According to breakdown specialists Green Flag, motorists should be prepared for the potential of more chaos on the roads should the rain get heavy.
Dan Robinson, head of Green Flag, said: "Motorists have had a really hard time the last week with nearly all of the UK being affected by the weather at one time or another."
He added that with the poor conditions set to continue, people should be aware that rain and flooding may be "just as treacherous" as snow, despite how safe the roads may look.
The firm has issued a number of tips for motorists to follow to help ensure that they travel safely and are prepared for the worst.
Green Flag advises that vehicle owners park on higher ground if the area in which they live is at risk of being flooded. Additionally, it is wise to keep some provisions handy in case of a breakdown.
Plenty of time should be allowed for journeys and motorists should avoid braking harshly where there is surface water to reduce the chance of skidding.
Despite the rain, no weather warnings have yet been issued.
