Racing ace lends support to motorbike group
Motorcycling could be a way to help provide youngsters with focus and discipline in their lives, double world superbike champion James Toseland has said.
The racing victor has given his support to the Motorcycle Sport Political Strategy Group (MPS), which incorporates the Motor Cycle Industry Association, the Amateur Motor Cycle Association and the Auto Cycle Union.
Among the key goals of the group is to demonstrate that motorcycling can help engage young people and provide value to society, bike insurance customers may be interested to read.
Toseland commented: "If I didn't have the opportunity to start my motorcycling career at Bracken Rocks as a child, it is unlikely that I would still be fortunate enough to be representing my country in MotoGP."
He went on to say that he was aware of an increasing yob culture and had frequently heard criticism of young Britons, yet "at the same time the government insists on removing opportunities that could help to provide focus and discipline in a fun environment".
Toseland recently held a sending off party at Donington Park ahead of this year's MotoGP campaign.
