Event sparks interest in vintage bikes
Motorcycle insurance policyholders in the Black Country may have been among those who flocked to a local museum to see vintage bikes and cars first-hand.
Last weekend saw the Black Country Living Museum become home to various classic cars and motorbikes on Saturday in a boost to the region's tourism.
The Marston Heritage Trust took a number of automobiles to the museum so that they could be viewed by the public, with a 1915 Sunbeam motorcycle amongst the vehicles on show, the Birmingham Mail reports.
A 1918 French military bike was also on show, with both motorcycles ridden around the streets so that onlookers could see them in their full glory.
Ray Jones, curator of motorcycles and cars at the museum, said that the trust was "innundated" by visitors who wanted to know more about the vehicles.
"They wanted to know about the old times, about how things work, about which lever did which job and so on," he said.
Motorcycle insurance customers disappointed to have missed the event can always attend the Bromley Pageant on June 14th in Greater London, which is said to be the world's biggest classic motoring event and will host various vintage bikes.
