Famous motorbike set for show
One of the most famous motorbikes ever involved in speedway is set to go on show at an event in north Wales.
The 500cc bike was once owned and ridden by speedway world champion Peter Collins during the 1970s and will now go on display at this year's motorbike show in Llangollen, the Wrexham Chronicle reports.
People with motorbike insurance may well remember the legendary battles between the likes of Collins and the sport's heavyweights, such as Denmark's Ole Olsen and Ivan Mauger of New Zealand during what many believe was the sport's high-point.
The motorbike is now owned by speedway fan John Peers, who told the newspaper: "I still love bikes and I'm really looking forward to the motorbike show."
The motorbike will be on display at the Royal International Pavilion show during the first weekend of August after Mr Peers agreed to let organisers showcase the vehicle.
Meanwhile, people with motorcycle insurance in London have been concerned during recent weeks over Westminster council's introduction of a parking tax for motorbikes and scooters.
Some campaigners have already protested against the idea and another rally is due to take place in the centre of the capital at the end of the month.
However, the council has urged the campaigners not to go ahead with the plans because of the gridlock it will cause on the city's streets.
