Suzuki celebrates centenary at testing event

Motorcycle insurance policyholders may be interested to read that Japanese bike maker Suzuki is set to celebrate its centenary this week.

Tuesday April 7th will see the firm celebrate its 100th anniversary with a media test day at Bedford Autodrome, in which it intends to showcase its newest models.

Other brands will also be exhibiting their machines at the event, which is hosted by the Motorcycle Industry Association.

Suzuki has confirmed that the line-up will include the new 2009 GSX-R1000 superbike and the stylish yet friendly Gladius 650.

Three-times British Superbike Champion John Reynolds will be on hand all day to chat with press and the bike brand has said that it will also display some models from its racing past.

The event is set to introduce press to the world of powered two-wheelers, with attendants being given the opportunity to test out the models for themselves.

BSM Rider Training experts will also be turning out to provide basic tuition and enable those present to test out scooters and 125cc bikes.

Last month, Suzuki announced that riders would have the chance to win a GSX-R1000 by taking part in a guess the reg competition at participating dealerships.
