Security system launched for bikes
A new security system could be just what bikers need to avoid hefty motorcycle insurance claims.
Manufacturer Suzuki has launched a new security and marking system with Retainagroup at a cost of £49 for fitting.
The device allows for the bike's identity to be checked easily and has been developed to aid the fight against motorcycle theft.
"With theft still a major concern for all motorcycle and scooter owners, not to mention the cost of insurance, we believe this new system offers additional peace of mind," commented Suzuki GB's Michael Le-Flay.
He went on to say that the device offers value for money and impressive protection, also acting as a deterrent to would-be thieves as a result of its overt and covert markings.
"The Retainagroup system is a great deterrent, but should the unthinkable happen [it] offers owners a much greater chance of recovery," Mr Le-Flay stated.
Such devices can sometimes incur a discount in motorcycle insurance premiums, especially if they are approved by security device firm Thatcham.
Riders looking to lower their running costs could also see a reduction in their premiums by reducing their annual mileage and not carrying a pillion.
