Firm creates dedicated bike tyre facilities
Bikers are to benefit from dedicated tyre centres and a new website as one firm recognises that this group of road users has specific needs.
Protyre has announced the creation of 21 state-of-the-art centres nationwide to cater for the requirements of motorbikes and scooters, providing a ride in and ride out service.
The facilities will be manned by fully trained staff and offer access to 20,000 bike tyres.
Meanwhile, the website - rubberupright.com - is being developed to provide advice and safety information that could help bikers avoid having to make bike insurance claims, as well as offering in-depth sales information.
To mark the launch of the centres and website, Protyre has teamed up with Bridgestone to offer a £10 discount for those purchasing two Bridgestone tyres or free fitting of tyres as an alternative. The voucher can be downloaded via the website until the end of June.
"Most tyre dealers focus on car tyres and we felt that bikers were getting a raw deal hence the creation of our two-wheel centres and our new website," commented Protyre Two Wheel Centres retail director Simon Hiorns.
Earlier this year, the firm revealed that up to 70 per cent of bikes visiting its premises have at least one badly worn or defective tyre.
