Record interest in Bike Tyre Safety Month
April's Bike Tyre Safety Month saw record interest from the public as more riders may have decided to look for ways to enhance their safety and avoid motorbike insurance claims.
TyreSafe, which organised the month-long campaign, recorded the highest number of visits to its website to date - seeing a rise in traffic of 185 per cent compared with April the previous year.
During the campaign, bikers were reminded of the importance of their tyres in day-to-day safety and were also provided with tips and advice on how to maintain their wheels.
Visitors to the site could also sign up for the newsletter and be sent free tyre valve extension.
Stuart Jackson, chairman of TyreSafe, said that the interest received during the month was encouraging and he was delighted to see that people were choosing to educate themselves on the issue of tyre safety.
"We see this as a direct result of our constant focus on providing accurate and relevant advice to motorists and bikers, as we strive to become the UK's first point of reference for tyre safety issues," he stated.
A motorcycle road safety campaign has just been launched in the Isle of Man ahead of this year's TT Festival.
