A new bike manufacturer is poised to enter the market with a range of 500cc motorcycles.

Mac Motorcycles has developed the single cylinder bikes over the past nine months with the hope of creating unusual models that cross over the different genres of motorcycling.

There are four bikes in production: the MMC-001 Spud model, the MMC-002 Peashooter, MMC-003 Ruby and the MMC-ROR Roarer.

Based in Upton-Upon-Severn in Worcestershire, the firm will produce small batches of the bikes and increase production when demand calls for it.

Spokesman for the firm Ellis Pitt commented that he and the other staff at the company had ridden, designed and built all sorts of bikes in the last 30 years.

"Our influences have been diverse and we've made unusual connections between genres of motorcycles such as choppers, Italian singles from the 1950s, flat-trackers and competition specials," he stated.

As well as Britons, bike insurance from countries such as North America, Australia and Japan will be able to get their hands on the models, which are made to be of top quality and fitted with components by brands such as Yamaha YEC, Derbi, Aprilia and Royal Enfield.
