Honda bike insurance policyholders may be celebrating their team's victory in the recent TT Superbike race.

The pairing of John McGuinness and Steve Plater was a successful one as the riders scooped a one-two place finish at the Isle of Man event.

Both riders broke through the 130 mph average lap speed, with McGuiness setting a lap record and breaking the race distance record.

He claimed his 15th TT win and said that the result was extra special as Honda celebrates its 50th year of racing in 2009.

"Leading the race from the first lap to the finish is a great feeling. I felt strong on the first lap out and knew I had to give it a real good go then, to set me up for the rest of the race," he added.

Commenting on both riders' performances, race team manager Havier Beltran said he could not have asked any more from the team.

"Both riders just got their heads down and rode faultlessly to take their very well deserved places on the podium," he stated.

The end of May saw the Honda team take a podium hat-trick across the Supersport, Superstock 1000 and Superbike classes in Thruxton.
