Next week will mark the launch of National Motorcycle Week under the banner Get More Out of Life.
Current bike insurance customers and those who do not yet ride will be made aware of the many benefits afforded by investing in a motorbike as an environmentally-friendly and cost-effective means of transport.
Running from June 12th to 18th, the week will encourage bikers to organise events in their local areas that can also be enjoyed by non-riders, such as charity runs and bikers' breakfasts.
"National Motorcycle Week is an important date in the motorcycling calendar because it is an opportunity for the whole motorcycling community to get active," commented the Motorcycle Industry Association's (MCIA) spokeswoman Sheila Rainger.
She added that the week will provide an opportunity for bikers to think about ways of getting more from their machines, from taking additional training to improve their skills to opting for a biking holiday.
Anyone planning to organise an event can download a special pack from the MCIA's website and are urged to get in touch with the group to promote their plans.
The week could help to foster interest in bikes, as results for May showed that registrations of two-wheelers fell by more than 16 per cent last month.
