Welshpool's own motorbike man will be hitting the road in aid of charity on an epic cross-Europe road trek this summer.
Gary Northeast, 55, of Dolanog, Welshpool will take his 1986 Suzuki across 20 European countries in three weeks on a sponsored ride that will see him cover over 5,000 miles of roads, those with bike insurance may be interested to read.
The dad of two is hoping donors, who will be able to follow his adventures online via a blog page, will dig deep to help him raise funds for several local charities, according to the County Times.
Mr Northeast told the newspaper: "I have ridden across large parts of Europe before, but never a journey of this magnitude.
"I'll be taking my scruffy but reliable 1986 Suzuki GSXR400 bike and raising money for some very good local causes."
Set to benefit from Mr Northeast's journey is the Wales Air Ambulance service and the local Ysgol Pontrobert Primary School, attended by his two daughters, which is in need of new IT equipment.
Leaving on August 8th, Mr Northeast will travel through France, Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia, Italy and Luxembourg before returning home.
Mr Northeast may have found the inspiration for his adventure from the BBC's 2004 programme The Long Way Round, in which Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman travelled 20,000 miles by motorbike from London to New York.,/p>
