Colindale motorcycle show attracts 1,000s

The annual National BikeSafe Motorcycle Show at the Metropolitan Police Training School, in Aerodrome Road attracted thousands of bike insurance customers and fans of this kind of vehicle.
On June 20th and 21st the sunshine attracted 18,000 visitors to the event, which was run in partnership with Transport for London and offered motorcyclists the chance to test their hazard perception in a simulator.
Chief Inspector Dave McLaren, from the Met's traffic unit, said: "The idea is to attract motorcyclists who wouldn't normally have any contact with police except when they are stopped for an offence.
"Police have a very high level of training and it's a great way to give riders constructive feedback and help them develop better rider awareness."
Riding safety skills were demonstrated at the event and attendees were offered a free rider assessment with a qualified police officer.
BikeSafe is an initiative run by police forces around the UK to promote responsible riding for bike insurance customers.
