Team Doodson Suzuki Youth rider James Dunn scooped the victory in Whitby at the weekend during the Silkolene 2 Stroke British Championship.

Bike insurance customers rooting for the youngster may have been pleased to see the rider from Swindon take fourth place in the qualifying event and go on to win the first two main races.

A bad start in the third event saw the racer take the seventh spot but claim overall victory on the day in both the championship classes.

The event was the first in which Dunn rode a 125 model, having only practised on the vehicle in a set up session the week before.

Team manager Paul Butler commented: "Having been at the Whitby circuit only a few weeks ago, it seemed a prime opportunity to have James try out the 125, and we are naturally very pleased with his results."

Suzuki recently took another victory when Enduro rider Paul Edmondson took the win in the WOR Premiership event last weekend near Ruthin.
