Grampian police are appealing for motorbike insurance customers to drive safely after the death of three people in a road accident.
The fatalities follow a series of accidents and two young men are still in Inverness and Aberdeen hospitals in a serious condition after another two crashes over the weekend, reports the Press and Journal.
Inspector Mike McDonald, of Grampian Police, told the newspaper: "There have been quite a number of motorcycle collisions in recent weeks. There is more traffic on the roads. It seems to be more prevalent with the better weather."
He sent out a message for motorbike drivers to take extra care and also warned other road uses to be particularly vigilant when driving near bikes.
Bieldside councillor Alan Milne called the deaths "tragic", particularly considering the riders' young age.
"I would hope others would be able to take lessons from it about careful biking," he said.
Earlier this year, commuters were advised to ride a motorbike to work, after research by the Motor Cycle Industry Association revealed that 5.5 million car users could cut costs by switching to two-wheel transportation.
