British Superstock champion Steve Brogan is set to stand in for HM Plant Honda's injured Glen Richards at the forthcoming round of the British Superbike Championship.
The Mallory Park event running from July 17th to 19th will see the racer fill in for 35-year-old Glen Richards, who suffered a break to his left femur during a crash at Knockhill last weekend, bike insurance holders may remember.
Following rounds at Brands Hatch and Cadwell Park will see team-mate Steve Plater take Richards' place.
The injured rider commented that the operation on his leg went well and he can now get around on crutches.
"Knowing that Brogie and Steve will be on my bike for the next few rounds has actually cheered me up," he stated.
"Firstly because they are two good friends of mine and great riders so I know they'll do a good job for the team, but also because it's a great opportunity for Brogie and also will be good for Steve, particularly at Cadwell, as that's his home circuit."
HM Plant Honda team boss Havier Beltran recently described the team's year so far as "horrendous".
"The worst part is that since round four at Thruxton onwards we have made some changes to the bike that has shown we are going in the right direction and Glen has been doing well," he added.
