Honda has announced a new chopper set to get bike insurance policyholders salivating.

The firm's radical VT1300CX is a V-twin custom model that will enter the market next year.

According to Honda, the offering marks a "new breed" of cruiser, powered by the same 1312cc 52-degree fuel-injected V-twin as featured in the VTX1300 machine but fitted with re-profiled camshafts and a new exhaust system.

The model's radiators are out of sight to enhance the bike's traditional look, while the single pin crank ensures the machine's growl is unique.

Meanwhile, the model is also stylish, with Honda commenting: "For cruisers and choppers, style is king and the head-turning looks, coupled with great attention to detail of the VT1300CX, are a milestone."

The machine is fitted with a long, low chassis with a stretched-out wheelbase. A single shock rear suspension system ensures that riding is more comfortable than would be expected of a chopper, the firm suggests.

Bike insurance policyholders looking to customise their machine can do so with a range of accessories, including a colour-matched front spoiler, tubular chrome backrest and a chrome-plated steel rear fender.

Honda recently unveiled its model line-up for 2010, including the new CRF250R and updated CRF450R off-road bikes.
