As part of National Motorcycle Week, bikers are being offered a free assessment of their riding by road safety experts in Lancashire.
The campaign, launched by the Motorcycle Industry Association, is a seven-day event that encourages motorcyclists to get together and promote their pastime.
According to the Lancashire Telegraph, the county council's Road Safety Group will be providing bikers with free assessments throughout week, no matter their level of skill.
The examination is conducted with a professional riding instructor and takes into consideration factors such as hazard perception and road awareness, which may impact on a rider's likelihood of encountering accidents and bike insurance claims.
"With more motorcycles likely to be on the roads this week, we are reminding drivers and riders to be extra vigilant," advised the group's principal road safety adviser Alan Fisher.
"Drivers and riders need to anticipate each other's actions on the road," he added.
The week of events included Ride to Work Day on July 15th when consumers were encouraged to take their bike and potentially a colleague to work with them. Other activities have included series of ride-outs by motorcycle dealers and owners' clubs.
