Bike insurance policyholders who attended the recent MotoGP event at Tamworth Yamaha in Staffordshire were in for a treat.

Consumers were invited to have a meal at the motorbike dealership in aid of charity Riders, which supports health workers in Africa by ensuring they have adequate transport to deliver their services.

Tables were laid out for 150 guests, who were also treated to attractions such as getting to take an up-close look at James Ellison's Airwaves Yamaha YZF-R1 and Niall McKenzie's 1992 Yamaha YZR500 GP racer.

Local girl band The Dreamettes performed numerous Motown hits, while James Toseland from Tech 3 Yamaha revealed his predictions for this year's upcoming British round of MotoGP and signed autographs.

Team-mate Colin Edwards was also in attendance, along with Billy McConnell and Jon Kirkham.

The event concluded with an auction of lots, including a signed Valentino Rossi shirt and a BSB hospitality package provided by Pirelli and Airwaves Yamaha.

Riders recently staged its annual Day of Champions at Donnington Park, which enables paying visitors to see all the stars of MotoGP as well as enjoying a host of entertainment.

The charity event took place on July 23rd and was free to enter for anyone under the age of 16.
