Ahead of the forthcoming British Superbike (BSB) rounds, Honda Plant rider John McGuinness has spoken about his high hopes to make the team proud.
The number 12-ranking motorcyclist recently tested the superbike, which he shares with fellow rider Steve Brogan.
He commented that the nerves set in ahead of the testing because the biker has mainly ridden the machine during road races rather than on the track.
But he stated: "I have had a few rides in BSB before but this is a great opportunity for me."
The rider went on to say that Honda has been loyal to him and is a team he greatly respects.
"Seeing how Brogie and Richard Cooper rode at Mallory Park was quite inspirational for me, so I want to put on a good performance at Cadwell Park in a few weeks' time and do us all proud," he added.
Havier Beltran, HM Plant Honda team manager, said that McGuiness was chosen to race at the event to allow Brogan to concentrate full on defending his Superstock title.
The team will take to the track at Cadwell on August 29th, followed by Croft and Silverstone in September.
