Bike insurance policyholders in Somerset might want to head to Brent Knoll in September for an action-packed event in their motorcycle calendars.

September 5th and 6th will see the Freewheelers Bike Show take place at Sanders GardenWorld to raise funds for charity the Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service.

Motorcyclists are invited to attend the event, which will include an inter-bike tug of war between owners of different machines, ThisIsTheWestCountry.co.uk reports.

Additionally, the show's organisers are looking for bike owners to display their machines at the event.

Charity volunteer Allan Roberts commented: "We would particularly like any bikes that are custom, quirky or unusual and any bike clubs who would like to be involved to take part."

Peter Burks, general manager at Sanders GardenWorld, explained that the charity uses adapted bikes to transport items for emergency use from one hospital to another in and outside of Somerset.

"We are really pleased to be able to help Allan and the Freewheelers by hosting the event at the garden centre," he added.

The Freewheelers, established in 1990, cover areas including Bristol, Bath and West Wiltshire. They provide their services free of charge and are funded entirely by public donations.
