Suzuki has boosted its 2010 motocross line-up with the addition of a revised RM-Z450 model.

Bike insurance policyholders may be excited to read that the machine has undergone chassis changes to ensure laser-accurate steering and will also benefit from improved engine performance.

Additionally, the bike will offer an enhanced camchain tensioner to provide more consistent performance.

The two-piece design headstock is nine millimetres taller than the previous model and is combined with wider rear frame-sections and a wider upper frame bridge to improve rigidity.

Suzuki GB marketing manager George Cheeseman commented: "While the 450 was the first production motocross machine to feature fuel-injection, we believe the changes for 2010 will keep it firmly at the front of the pack."

The revised model is set to enter showrooms later this month and is set to be priced at £5,799.

In June, the firm announced that it will launch its fuel-injection 2010 Suzuki RM-Z250 in to the MX2 motocross class in the autumn of 2009.

Around the same time, consumers are expected to be able to get their hands on the Suzuki RMX450Z, which the public has been asking for at dealers and at bike shows, the firm commented.
