Plymouth bike dealership GT Motorcycles is set to bring out the 1984 Production TT-winning Kawasaki GPZ900R from its private collection to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Ninja.
MotorcycleNews.com reports that Geoff Johnson's machine will be prepared for a series of parade laps around Brands Hatch this weekend, which may appeal to bike insurance policyholders who are fans of the Ninja.
"Geoff Johnson was reckoned to be one of the best riders of the time racing production bikes, so we taped over the indicator lenses, took the main stand off for more ground clearance and did any modifications that were allowed under the rules," commented Mike Grainger of GT Motorcycles.
The bike is set to be ridden by TT star Conor Cummins, who usually races on a McAdoo Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R.
Commenting, Cummins said that he knows how difficult it is to win a TT.
"To last the distance and win on a bike that you could have bought in any motorcycle shop shows just how right the Ninja was right from the start," he added.
Over the weekend, eight races will take place at Brands Hatch in addition to the British Superbike heats. Among the races will be a round of the International Classic Grand Prix series.
