Bike insurance policyholders visiting Honda's global website can now watch previously unseen footage and view images from the last five decades, as the firm has added to its 50th Anniversary of World Championship Racing website area.

The section has been developed to illustrate the company's Grand Prix racing heritage and showcases models such as Honda's first ever TT race bike the RC142 and legendary machines including the RC166, NR500, NSR500 and RC211V.

Visitors to the portal can also run through significant events for the firm leading up to the 1959 TT, including a concise version of the transcript that former president of the company Soichiro Honda sent out to his workers on March 20th 1954.

The auto boss declared that he planned to win the Isle of Man TT in a bid to draw attention to the company, which he achieved.

Steve Martindale, general manager of Honda (UK) Motorcycles, commented: "Honda is proud to have such an unrivalled history in two-wheel Grand Prix racing and this website is a superb celebration of this history, as well as a fantastic resource for motorcycle enthusiasts."

Honda fans can view a number of image galleries on the site and download a special wallpaper for their PC celebrating 50 years of the world grand prix.
