Bike insurance policyholders planning to visit Santa Pod Raceway in October will be in for a treat if they time their stay for October 10th and 11th.

The track will play host to the tenth birthday celebrations of the Suzuki Hayabusa - the world's fastest production bike, the manufacturer claims.

In its ten-year history, the model has remained mostly unchanged, undergoing just one major update and becoming a favourite among drag racers.

The birthday bash will take place as part of the final round of the Auto-Cycle Union and Straightliners drag championships.

Suzuki's marketing manager George Cheeseman commented that the firm is pleased to confirm the event would be taking place at Santa Pod.

"It's an iconic machine that has captured the hearts of thousands of riders across the globe and so it's only fair we honour it in this way, while we thank those who have made it so successful," he added.

Visitors to the event will be able to take part in a range of activities and might also catch a glimpse of Suzuki-supported rider Mattie Griffin.

Bike insurance policyholders can get their hands on a Hayabusa of their own in silver, black or white for £9,400.
