Next week's Tour of Britain cycle race is to be sponsored by motorbike manufacturer Honda and will include a fleet of ST1300 Pan European machines, it has been announced.
The bikes will be ridden by ITV4's television production company who will be covering the nationwide event and offering one lucky viewer the chance to win a Honda CB00F Hornet for a year.
Starting tomorrow (September 12th) in Scunthorpe and finishing in London next Saturday (September 19th), the race will see 100 high profile cyclists compete for victory on the 700-mile course covering a variety of terrains.
In support of fellow two-wheelers, Honda will be encouraging spectators, who could include bike insurance customers, to have a go on a high powered motorbike and giving away hundreds of prizes.
Executive producer for Century TV - the production company for ITV4s coverage of the race - Rohan Browning, said: "The mobile camera crews are vital for capturing the action that viewers really want to see from the start, finish and along the entire route of the stages and motorcycles are the ideal vehicles for making sure were at the heart of the action."
In related news, the firm has announced plans to launch what it describes as the world's first dual clutch transmission system for motorbikes.
