Motorbike manufacturer BMW Motorrad has confirmed that the UK price for the S1000 RR will be an "extremely competitive" £10,950.
A sports version will also be available, priced at £12,235 and available for delivery from mid-January 2010.
This higher specification model will be factory-fitted with sports ABS, dynamic traction control and gearshift assist, which BMW claims offers a saving of £213 over the cost of a standard model with the options purchased separately.
Those bike insurance customers looking for a custom ride can order a standard model and then choose from a list of five extra features including an anti-theft alarm for £172 and a motorsport colour scheme for £390 extra.
The bespoke bikes will then be assembled on the production line following the customer's specification, a service BMW says is unique to the supersport market.
Ian Furse, the firm's national sales manager, said: "Not only does the standard model offer excellent value for money, we feel that with the introduction of the higher specification sport variant, we can offer supersports customers a simple choice of specifications that will also significantly benefit the bikes residual values."
In related news, Suzuki GSX-R owners now have the option of customising their bike with a new accessories pack.
Priced at £215, the pack contains eight items including a Double Bubble Tinted Windshield.
