A legendary haunt of generations of bikers is to return to this year's Classic Motor Show, held at Birmingham's NEC from November 13th to 15th.
Founded in 1938 on London's North Circular Road, the Ace Cafe was primarily a welcome sight for hauliers wanting refreshment, but later attracted a younger crowd of motorcyclists.
Recently revived by Mark Wilsmore, organisers say the cafe still maintains a strong link with bike insurance customers and other riders who flock to the venue for regular meetings, live gigs and special one-off events.
With the backing of car care firm Meguiar, the show will include the Ace Cafe Racer Concours event, which is open to motorcyclists from all countries and of all ages - as long as their bikes have been built in a cafe racer style.
The race's winner will receive VIP tickets and hotel accommodation for a next year's Ace Cafe Reunion, as well as a host of other free products and prizes.
Keeping the retro spirit alive will be an Ace-themed catering area, where diners will be accompanied by the sounds of a rockabilly DJ playing hits from the 1940s to the 1960s.
This Friday (October 2nd) will see the original venue host its monthly Bike Night, featuring a streetfighter demonstration at 18:00.
