This weekend (October 9th) will see Josh Coppins make his last appearance for the Yamaha Monster Energy Motocross Team at Franciacorta, in Italy, for the 63rd Motocross of Nations.
Rounding off a successful three years with Yamaha, the New Zealander said he felt "privileged" to have been a squad member.
"I felt like that I not only rode for the team but was very much part of the team and I still have that sensation - that I will always be welcome - and that's really nice," he added.
A winner in each MX1-GP world championship term, Coppins first made his debut with the YZ5450FM in 2007 by winning the Benelux Grand Prix.
In total he collected seven of his 11 career highs with the Yamaha team and put the works bike on the podium 15 times in 41 races.
Coppins said it would be "emotional" returning to the workshop for the last time after his final race as it is where he experienced some of his best times.
"I loved being there, hanging around the guys and spending time with the three Rinaldi brothers," he added.
