A police operation to preserve safety among Hampshire's bikers has come to an end after 500 people were caught speeding.
Motorcyclists may have been among the hundreds of people risking more than a bike insurance claim by exceeding the speed limit on the county's roads.
Operation Triumph has concluded after a seven-day initiative that was spread over the summer period.
Police running the campaign aimed to target bikers who were riding inconsiderately, but also pulled up other motorists.
Officers handed out 510 fixed penalty notices for a range of crimes, including speeding, while six bikers were given warnings as a result of their anti-social riding.
Safety co-ordinator for Hampshire Police PC Mick Gear said that the force has dealt with a reduced number of fatal motorcycle collisions this year.
"The complaints we receive are about a minority of inconsiderate motorcyclists who cause the majority of problems, riding dangerously or carelessly, sometimes speeding through villages with 30mph limits," he commented.
"I'm a motorcyclist myself and given how difficult it can be for riders to stay safe among other road users, it's really not worth taking the risk."
Vehicle accident involvement rates show that bikers are seven times more likely to be involved in an accident than Britons in cars.
