Motorcyclists concerned about having their machines stolen and the ensuing bike insurance claims might want to invest in a new product from Road Angel Group.

The firm has just launched its latest product entitled Bike Trac, a gadget that helps track stolen vehicles and also offers security features to give bikers peace of mind.

According to the company, 50,000 motorcycles are stolen in the UK annually, of which 40 per cent vanish and are never seen again by their owners.

The new product allows riders to see where their machine is in real time and tracks journeys to provide data on their routes and the number of miles travelled.

Managing Director of Road Angel Group Graham Mackie said the tool had been developed in response to consumer concerns and the number of bike thefts taking place every year in the UK.

"Motorbikes are an easy target for thieves, and with the higher levels of crime we are seeing since the start of the economic downturn, Bike Trac is a product designed to protect motorbikes and give their owners peace of mind," he stated.

Tracking devices are also available from firm Tracker, which has recovered 18.896 stolen vehicles through using its devices.
