A 99-year-old motorcycle enthusiast who has driven nearly one million miles during his time behind the wheel has been named Britain's safest driver.

According to the Daily Mail, George Geeson has never had a speeding ticket or caused an accident since he first got his driving licence aged 15.

Through his 84 years on the road Mr Geeson has owned dozens of motorbikes and cars, despite never having passed a formal test.

The cautious motorist and his brother Leonard opened a garage on the A1 in Lincolnshire after selling his first bike for £30.

After selling the petrol station in 1965, the pair opened a motorbike museum exhibiting around 85 classic machines, claims the newspaper.

Mr Geeson shared his secret for staying safe on two or four wheels with the Mail: "I have always said to myself if I stay on the right side of the law I've got no reason to be scared of anyone or anything".

Bike insurance customers who share Mr Gleeson's enthusiasm for classic machines could head to the International Motocycle and Scooter Show held from November 27th to December 6th at Birmingham's NEC.
