Suzuki to unveil new blue look

Cigarette paper brand Rizla has signalled its support for Suzuki with sponsorship for the MotoGP World Championship.

The 17-race series will see the new 2006 Suzuki GSV-R bikes in action, with riders John Hopkins and Chris Vermeulen decked out in resplendent "Rizla blue".

The MotoGP partnership will last for at least two years, building on a bond established in British Superbike racing. The Rizla Suzuki British Superbike team has won over 30 races in total - topped off with rider and manufacturer Superbike titles in 2004.

The team will be officially launched at the Circuit de Catalunya, Barcelona, tomorrow, when the 2006 Rizla Suzuki GSV-R XRE4 will also be unveiled.

Paul Denning, the team's manager, said: "This is an exciting and significant step forward for Suzuki in MotoGP and for the Rizla Suzuki partnership. Rizla is a colourful and exciting brand that fits in well with Suzuki's racing ethos and identity.

"Rizla and Suzuki also have historical links, which include Kevin Schwantz making his Grand Prix debut aboard a Rizla-backed RG500."

The team will take to the tracks for the first time in Jerez on March 26th.
