The late Hollywood actor Marlon Brando has secured a new deal with Triumph to promote biking accessories.

Bike insurance customers may be among those who took to two wheels after being inspired by the star's performances in films such as The Wild One.

The manufacturer is to produce replica leather jackets modelled on those worn in the 1953 film.

Each jacket will feature the name tag and distressed BRMC logo on the back, as worn by Brando's character, bike gang leader Johnny Strabler.

The company is also reportedly planning to develop t-shirts featuring the actor's image for both men and women.

Brando Enterprises and its exclusive licensing representative Brand Sense Partners entered into the deal with Triumph.

Speaking shortly after the agreement was made, Ian O'Reilly, clothing, merchandise and licensing manager for the bike manufacturer, said: "It was an honour to work with Mr Brando's estate and while many will want the jacket as a must-have collector's item, we're confident we'll be seeing this beautiful item on streets and freeways worn by motorcyclists everywhere."
