Bike insurance policyholders across the UK could be among the bikers being urged to vote in the upcoming general election.

Next year will see citizens given the choice to make some changes to parliament's set up, with motorcyclists being urged to make use of their vote by a number of organisations.

The Motorcycle Action Group (MAG), the British Motorcyclists Federation and the Motor Cycle Industry Association have teamed up for a campaign aiming to get bikers having their say.

Officially launching in the new year, the campaign Riders Are Voters will seek to get motorcyclists behind the manifesto 'Britain Needs Biking', encouraging riders to get in touch with their local parliamentary candidates and find out their stance on the topic.

MAG's Nich Brown commented: "More than a million motorcycle and scooter riders are voters, so are their friends and families. By working together Riders Are Voters will show the biking constituency is big enough to make a difference at elections."

The organisations will be featuring the campaign on their stands at the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at Birmingham's NEC in the near future and are inviting bikers to drop their opinions into a ballot box.

Running between November 27th and December 6th, the show will provide an opportunity for many new and non-riders to gain insight into the world of motorcycling.
