eBay Motors reveals yearly results
A motor bike is snapped up on the eBay Motors UK website approximately every eight seconds, Car Pages reports.
Announcing results for 2005, the online auction site said that it had generated around £1 billion in sales of second hand cars, motor bikes, other vehicles, parts, accessories and manuals, over the course of the year.
This represents almost twice as many motors changing hands on the UK site as in the previous year.
There are currently more than 20,000 cars and motor bikes on the company's books, as well as over five times as many spare parts and accessories.

Spokeswoman Claire Gilmartin said: "Since the first car, a Rolls Royce, was listed on the site in 1998, eBay Motors has grown and grown with over $13 billion worth of vehicles and accessories sold worldwide in 2005.
"The site offers anyone with a vehicle to sell the opportunity to reach an audience of over three million and the chance to get more than they expected for their vehicle."
Anyone tempted to buy a second hand motor bike should be aware how to sniff out the cheapest motor bike insurance deals.
As motor bikes are involved in a particularly high proportion of road accidents, they are often notoriously expensive to insure.
One of the best ways to reduce your cheap insurance premiums is to reduce your mileage and get some official training, which sometimes attracts a special discount.
