Motorbike manufacturer BMW has expressed anticipation that 2010 will be a good year for trading following recent award success.
The company's K 1300 S was voted the Best Sports Tourer of 2009, while the F 800 GS took the Best Trailie honour for the second consecutive year at the recent MotorCycle News (MCN) Awards.
Bike insurance policyholders may be among the riders investing in the K 1300 S machine in their droves, as BMW states a 70 per cent increase in sales this year compared with the bike's predecessor the K 1200 S model in 2008.
General manager for BMW Motorrad UK Adrian Roderick said that 2008 was the firm's most successful year in terms of sales, while 2009 has also been strong.
"We have increased our market share once again in 2009, thanks largely to the success and popularity of our K-Series range," he stated, adding: "Looking ahead, 2010 looks set to be one of our most exciting in recent years."
BMW is currently displaying a number of its models - including the K 1300 S and F 800 GS motorcycles - at the Bike Show, running at Birmingham's NEC Arena until December 6th.
