Bike maker BMW is poised for the launch of its S 1000 RR model this weekend.
Bike insurance policyholders may be excitedly awaiting the machine, which the firm describes as being a wholly supersport offering, due to enter showrooms on December 5th.
According to Adrian Roderick, general manager for BMW Motorrad UK, the launch of the model is set to be monumental.
"Early press reports on the S 1000 RR - our first ever 100 per cent supersports bike - have been better than even we expected, and the bike's December 5th launch in dealerships is one of the most eagerly anticipated in BMW's history," he commented.
Mr Roderick went on to say that BMW also plans a number of launches throughout 2010, including uprated versions of the R 1200 RT, R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS Adventure.
The firm has outlined a number of events set to take place in 2010 to mark the 30th anniversary of the GS model.
In November, the S 1000 RR made its world debut in Milan, with the model also currently on display at Birmingham's Bike Show, along with four other production bikes for visitors to sit atop.
